The Hansel Foundation was founded with one goal in mind: saving the lives of as many pit bull-type dogs as possible.
What We Do
We provide Hansel Help financial grants both big and small to help existing rescue organizations save more pits and cover care and medical expenses for them. This can take the form of smaller pledges for specific dogs at risk for euthanasia or larger grants to rescues to cover expenses (medical, training, supplies for fosters) for several dogs or long-term projects. Think of it as a pitty-focused scholarship program!
Hansel Help
Through our website and social media, we share important information to educate viewers about pit bull-type dogs and the struggles and discrimination they face — from reposting pictures and videos of dogs at risk for euthanasia so they can be seen and saved to promoting resources dispelling pit bull myths. We stand against BSL (breed-specific legislation) and want to expand our program to help treat the root causes of the shelter crisis, in addition to the symptoms.
